Racing ahead as Best Dressed Lady crowned

It was a style extravaganza at Dundalk Stadium last week when Marshes Shopping Centre hosted the coveted ‘Best Dressed Lady’ competition.

The event was a high profile affair as Dundalk Stadium welcomed Digital Influencer, Fashion Ambassador, Style Judge and Blogger Lisa McGowan of Lisa’s Lust List, Marshes Shopping Centre, new personal stylist, Rebecca McKinney who joins Marshes from co-presenting the Cool FM Breakfast Show, MTV correspondent Neil Cole of NI Gossip Guy and Rosie Kirk of Rosie Kirk Make-Up who had the difficult task of judging this years ‘Marshes Best Dressed Lady’ competition.

The title of ‘Marshes Best Dressed Lady 2017’ was awarded to Donna Mackin from Newry who received a package worth €4,000 comprising of a trip to New York and a luxury Marshes shopping experience. Donna was a clear favourite of the judges, achieving a classic and elegant look in a stylish red/pink Shauna Fay dress.

Her fabulous statement hat also caught the eye of the judging panel, a side tilt red/pink piece which Donna made herself.

 

But the day wasn’t just about the fabulous fashionistas as racing also took prominence!

The ace of the card and one of the feature greyhound races of the year at Dundalk Stadium also took place during the day – the eagerly awaited Racing Post Dundalk International 2017.

The invitation only greyhound race with a total prize fund of €37,000 was momentous with a powerful field of 3 British and 3 Irish greyhounds vying for the €20,000 winner’s purse.
The 2017 winner Jaytee Jet trained by Paul Hennessy and owned by John Turner, claimed first prize in a time of 30.01.

The next dual race meeting takes place on Friday 18th August for the Bar One Racing Dual Race Day with the first horse race off at 3.40pm.
