 Crowne Plaza Hotel of Dundalk Champion Jockey & Trainer Awards at Dundalk Stadium

The Crowne Plaza Hotel, Dundalk sponsored Champion Jockey & Trainer Awards took place at Dundalk Stadium on Friday 22nd December 2017.

The Crowne Plaza Hotel of Dundalk Champion Jockey award went the way of this year’s new Flat Racing Champion Jockey, Colin Keane with a total of 35 wins over the calendar year at Dundalk with Pat Smullen a close 2nd with 33 wins.  Both Colin and Pat riding a winner on the last meeting of the season, Friday 22nd December 2017.

Colin rode his first ever winner at Dundalk on board No Trimmings for Gerry Keane on 10th December 2010.

Defending champion Michael Halford was the winner of the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Dundalk Champion Trainer 2017 with a total of 25 wins over the calendar year and Joseph O’Brien 2nd with 21 wins at Dundalk for the 2017 season.  This is the 7th consecutive year that Michael Halford wins the Champion Trainer of Dundalk award.

The 2017 season has ended and Dundalk Stadium reprises on Friday 5th January for dual sporting action.
